At the Nevada State USBC Hall of Fame and Awards banquet held at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino on Saturday, July 19, 2025, one new recipient of the Nevada State Above and Beyond Scholarship was recognized for her accomplishments.

Mackenzie Meiers (2025)

Southern Nevada USBC Association

Mackenzie Meiers is a senior soon to graduate from Centennial High School in Las Vegas. With a remarkable 4.75 GPA and a class rank  of  37 out of 766, she is on track to receive an Advanced Honors Diploma. Those who know her would say that she is a dedicated individual who loves to help others and have fun doing so. In addition to babysitting, tutoring, and volunteering to help with several school events. She is a part of my school’s National Honor Society chapter, where she brings these skills to fruition for the benefit of her fellow students and community members. She is also a member of Centennial’s marching band as a clarinetist.

Before she became deeply involved in these activities she found a love for bowling. Mackenzie is still learning the intricacies of bowling but has dived in to the activity from the first time she picked up a ball. Mackenzie claims to not being a very athletic person, meaning most sports listed on the website didn’t interest her, except for one: girl’s bowling. Having only bowled only bowled a few times in my life before this point, she thought it would be a fun activity to try out for so in 2021 she made the decision to try out for the team and has been steadily improving her game to the point where she can legitimately compete.
